HCL Samuday
Brand In Focus
HCL Foundations' flagship project, Samuday, aims to develop a scalable, sustainable and replicable source code for rural development. The project has been at work in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district for almost six years now. Following the approach of holistic rural development, HCL Samuday works across Agriculture, Education, Health, Infrastructure, Livelihood, and WASH. The project strives to make the development process participatory by including all the stakeholders – community, local administration, state government, civil society organisations, etc. This includes engaging with individuals of all ages, and from all walks of lives.
With a special focus on vulnerable sections – marginal households and women, Samuday aims to create a sustainable model of rural development and enable the rural community to be capacitated and motivated to carry on their development, on their own, forever.

Getting Creative
Taking our story to social media!
The creative approach here is slightly delicate and intricate keeping in mind the project's collaboration with government bodies at multiple levels of the system in UP, but at the same time, it has to be raw and true to the rural soul of the project.

The communication for the project needed to be very perceptible and clear. To achieve that with an extremely broad set of activities and work we took the project's campaigns one vertical at a time. Creating individual properties for verticals and aspects of the project helps us to not only be able to reach out to people with more specific interests (education, agriculture, women empowerment, etc) but also paint a deeper picture of what's actually happening in Hardoi from a technical perspective as well as practical one.
Learning To Grow
Vertical Campaign: Education
Education gives it's students knowledge of the world around them and provides a basis for change, growth and developing into something better. Realising the importance of overall development that education can bring in our lives, HCL Samuday works toward creating a complete sustainable structure for all the people in the community to learn and in turn enables growth and development of the community at large.

With the combined efforts of people at every level, from govt' official to our team to the beneficiaries, Hardoi is #LearningToGrow.

HCL Samuday works toward creating an effective learning environment and making functional literacy available to all with a host of programs. #LearningToGrow is grounded in the vision that all of Hardoi’s children, parents and elders are aware and ready to take on life independently.
From Idea To Social Media
Taking the thought forward, we break up the communication of the different aspects of the education vertical into phases.
In the first phase, we talk about the importance, relevance and reason for why different demographics (students, women, grandparents, govt. officials) need education. Then we take a tour through HCL Samuday's activities, approach and development in phase 2. Finally, in phase 3, we delve into some stories and testimonials from beneficiaries and our on-ground team, who've witnessed the development and transformation first hand.

Going Topical

The cause marketing landscape comes with many important days and occasions observed for causes that hold global importance. Being a knowledge expert on multiple fronts in the social development space, HCL Samuday shares key knowledge & information with an intent to help generate awareness for these causes.
World Food Day
Crop Residue Management
With the rising pollution levels of late, the matter of pollution was present across almost every media outlet. The conversation is about the hazardous threat it poses to every single citizen’s health and how it can be dealt with.
The actual cause behind the issue has taken a backseat with little to no information being disseminated about how the causes can be dealt with. With HCL Samuday's agricultural vertical working towards ecologically improved agricultural practices and methods of farming, we shared some of our knowledge and experience as well.

Energy Conservation Day
Energy Conservation Day aims to sensitize people about the importance of renewable energy as well as methods to be more conservative while consuming energy. Under HCL Samuday’s Infrastructure Vertical, we work towards developing sustainable and renewable energy infrastructure to bring electricity to un-electrified habitations.

Today, many remote parts of the world are able to access energy primarily through renewable sources generated using their natural surroundings and resources.
